L.I. Freedom Pool
Opened in 2017, the Long Island Freedom Pool is a state-of-the-art training and competition venue that has hosted national swim meets and supports one of the country’s top aquatic programs. Located at the south end of the existing Nassau County Natatorium, the 50-meter pool was manufactured by Myrtha Pools in Italy and shipped to the United States for installation. The same pool was used in the Rio Olympics, where numerous world records were set, and it is considered one of the fastest pools in the world thanks to its advanced geometric design and unique water flow and filtration systems. The adjacent mechanical building houses the heaters, filtration systems, pumps, and surge tank, all of which can be controlled by a single operator. Completed in under a year as a fast-tracked project, the Freedom Pool stands as a premier example of cutting-edge aquatic design and engineering
